The Most Important Question

The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas a question in Acts 16:30 …what must I do to be saved?

What is it that you are trusting in order to go to heaven when you die?

The following two passages tell us that most certainly our works and personal righteousnesses are not to be trusted.

Titus 3:5,6 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (6) Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;…

Tradition and man’s religion are not the answer either. All churches and most people have traditions or religious habits that are practiced. The existence and importance of each, ought to first be tested by scripture. The aforementioned verses deal with this as well as the following scripture passage.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Not one human is born good enough for heaven according to the Bible.

Romans 3:10,12 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: …there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

To answer the most important question (…what must I do to be saved?). Paul says in Acts 16:31 …Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be savedPaul also writes in Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” .

Friend if you believe the gospel (death, burial, and resurrection), and are willing to repent of your sin, why not ask God to save you today in Jesus name?

Please let us know if you have made this decision as we would love to rejoice with you. Also please feel free to contact us with any questions that you might have.
